Hey club members,
The Sportsman Club rules not only on the shooting field but now in the Calf
Scramble arena at the largest livestock show in the world.
Tyler Green participated in the calf scramble last night in the one of the
largest Rodeo and livestock shows held in Texas, the Star of Texas Fair and
Rodeo held in Austin. There is goods news and bad news. The bad news is that
Tyler did not catch a calf but, the FANTASTIC good news is that he was awarded a
calf because of his actions on the field. After all the calves had been caught
and the contestants were struggling to get them into the winners circle Tyler
went out and started helping his competition get their calves into the winners
circle. WHAT A SPORTSMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because of his actions on the playing
field Tyler was awarded a calf as well. If you see him or get a chance, give him
a call to congratulate him on this GREAT display of SPORTSMANSHIP and while your
at it you might as well wish him good luck for his next chance of catching a
calf in Houston@ the worlds largest Livestock Show and Rodeo this Friday night.
Again, congratulations to Tyler Green!
Eddie Lero

Dear 4-H
members and families,
Once again, it is time for the Brazos Co. Shoot. This is a time when we can come
together as a 4-H family and demonstrate to all other counties how great our
club actually is. For our new members, our county shoot is one of the most
popular shoots all year throughout the state. Primarily due to the fact of our
families volunteering, safety organization, and of course, our PRIZES! All of
which we cannot achieve without the generous contributions of our families and
businesses.
In the past, the club has asked each family to donate $100 for the cost of the
prizes. However, we will accept any size of contribution you feel comfortable
with. If you can, we would like to have all donations in by April 1, so that we
can budget our prize funds accordingly. We also will be glad to give out any
receipts necessary for tax purposes.
You may give the contribution to me at the next meeting in March or simply just
mail to the address below. Remember, for years we have set the standards for our
state in our county shoot. With your help, we can continue to do so.
Thanks for your support

Here is just a
reminder if you are the last person on a field, please make sure you close and
chain the gate to that field, if you are the last one at the range, please
double check the gates. Last week 5 gates were left open one evening and the
cows got in and fertilized everything. They can do alot of damage, so please
help keep an eye on everything at our range (dripping faucets, running water,
unlocked doors, etc). Remember it's your range and it takes all of us to take
care of it.
Kyle
